If your clay comes through like this,
it's time for a fix!

First, remove the end caps, then the base...

You don't actually take this one sideplate off.

The machine can be quite good, yet have some crumby components. Replace or upgrade any wimpy screws or nuts that you can.

HERE'S WHAT NOT TO DO!!!

You want to pinch the whole straight edge under a table edge or something, then manipulate your bend using a steel straightedge, or stiff plexi etc.

Tightening these too much will actually crimp(distort) your scraper blades.

Take it easy! And add some white grease while you're in there.

Instead of using the crummy clamp they supply you with, just drill the base for some mounting screws and screw the whole thing down to a board. Then clamp the BOARD down instead. Much steadier, and you won't twist your machine as much.

Be sure to add some kind of spacer below your screws so you don't make a mess of the metal when you cinch the screws down.

Which Clay to Buy?

There are TONS of places to find out, but this is a matter of opinion and application.

Practically all techniques and products that you see here can be accomplished with nearly any brand of clay.

Work it up!

Most tools in the craft business are...well, kinda' Light Duty.

Beado's gonna fix that, because...

It's time to...

And NO, I'm not talking soup recipes, you...

Roll it out!

Grab a Pasta Machine,
for sure!

Then order one of these:

While you're waiting for your machines to arrive, find a nice smooth marble pin with a well-centered axis(I went through about 6 at Superstore a few years back and no two were the same), with straightout grain on the handles too.
